Ros Belford has written and contributed to guides to Italy and Rome for many publishers, including Dorling Kindersley, Rough Guides, Time Out, and Cadogan. She has written articles for magazines and newspapers, ranging from National Geographic and Cond Nast Traveler to the Independent and the Sunday Times. She spends as much time as possible in Italy on the island of Salina with her two daughters.
Jules Brown first visited the Lake District when he was nine. He returned regularly throughout his childhood and as an adult. He is the author of The Rough Guide to the Lake District, Pocket Rough Guide Barcelona, and a coauthor of The Best Places to Stay in Britain on a Budget.
Jonathan Buckley was editorial director at Rough Guides, where he wrote several guidebooks, including for Tuscany and Umbria, Florence, and Venice. He has also contributed to The Rough Guide to Classical Music and The Rough Guide to Opera. Buckley published his first novel, The Biography of Thomas Lang, in 1997, and has written several more, including the critically acclaimed Xerxes and The River Is the River.
Martin Dunford is cofounder of the Rough Guides and the author of Rough Guide to Rome, Rough Guide to New York, and Rough Guide Directions Rome. Dunford is also coauthor of the Rough Guides to Belgium and Luxembourg, Brussels, the Netherlands, Italy, and Amsterdam.
