Previously, she spent 16 years with NPR, including stints as the London Bureau Chief, and as a foreign correspondent in Ammam, Jordan. Deborah won widespread recognition and several prestigious awards for her coverage of the Gulf War in 1991. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and lives in New York City.
