Glen was born in County Durham in 1982. Having read and wrote throughout childhood and adolescence, he studied English at Becketts University in 2001. He then worked as a teacher in London and abroad while continuing to write short stories, and two early novels which nobody will ever get to see. Ever. In 2013, he won an Arts and Humanities Research Council scholarship to study for an M.A. in Creative Writing, where he graduated with distinction, and the Kate Betts Memorial Award. The novel he began there, Ironopolis, is set to be published by Parthian in summer 2018. He lives in Manchester.
