Mark C. Hunter is a maritime and naval historian of the Atlantic world. He specializes in nineteenth and early twentieth century history with a particular emphasis on non-state actors, the relationship between economic, maritime and naval history, education and training. Dr. Hunter received his PhD in history from the University of Hull. He lives in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, Canada.
