Lawrence W. Sherman was elected Wolfson Pro-fessor of Criminology of the University of Cambridge in 2006. He has been president of the American Society of Criminology, the International Society of Criminology, the American Academy of Political and Social Science, and the Academy of Experimental Criminology. His research interests are in the fields of crime prevention, evidence-based policy, restorative justice, police practices and experimental criminology. He has conducted field experiments, for example, on finding more effective ways to reduce homicide, gun violence, domestic violence, robbery, burglary, and other crime problems, in collaboration with such agencies as the Metropolitan, Northumbria and Thames Valley Police, London's Crown Courts, HM Prisons, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Youth Justice Board of England and Wales, and the National Probation Service. Peter W. Neyroud was the Chief Constable of Thames Valley from 2002-2006, a Vice-President of the ACPO and the Chief Executive of the National Policing Improvement Agency from 2006-10. He has been a member of the Sentencing Guidelines Council, Parole Board, National Policing Board and National Criminal Justice. In 2010 he was asked by the Home Secretary to carry out a 'fundamental review of Police Leadership and Training'. His Review proposed radical change and the establish-ment of a new professional body for policing, which has since been accepted by the Government. Since leaving the Police Service at the end of 2010 he has been carrying out a major research programme at Cambridge University into Crime Harm and is providing training, leadership development and consultancy nationally and internationally. He was awarded the QPM in 2004 and a CBE in 2011. He is a Visiting Professor at Chester University. Ken Pease, of the Manchester Business School, is an internationally acclaimed criminologist. He has acted as a consultant to a number of organisations including the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the Customs Co-operation Council. He is also a former Parole Board member. He is the author of the Civitas reports: Prison, Community Sentencing and Crime (2010) and Crime in England and Wales: More Violence and More Chronic Victims (2007).
