The author is forty something years old and a Registered General Nurse. She is married with three grown up children and lives in the South of England. After several years working within the field of dentistry, she began her General nurse training in 1983 in Warwickshire and realising that, although she loved working with people, general nursing was a lot more appealing. Newly married in 1988, she moved with her husband to a pretty holiday island on the coast to take up a post within a small cottage hospital there. Following the closure of that hospital, she moved to the Accident and Emergency Department within the General Hospital on the island, where she works as a senior staff nurse.
