Kennedy Weddings: A Family Album Jan Mulvaney
For three generations the Kennedy family has been in the public eye, and their marriages have been the equivalent of Royal matches in Britain. This portfolio begins in 1914 with the dynastic marriage of Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald. It then describes in detail the second generation weddings, most notably those of JFK and Jackie, Bobby and Ethel, and the tragic union of Kathleen Kennedy to the British lord, Billy Harrington. Finally, the third generation of weddings includes JFK Jr and Carolyn Bessette, Caroline Kennedy and Ed Schlossberg, and Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The accompanying photographs and papers have been acquired from Kennedy family members themselves, private collections of friends, the JFK Library and national archives. Many are particularly rare, having been published only at the time of the wedding or not at all.
