Janis Strasser has been in the field of early childhood for over 40 years. She has an M.Ed. and an Ed.D. from Columbia University, Teachers College, and an M.S. from Bank Street College. For the past 19 years she has been a teacher educator and coordinator of the M.Ed. in Curriculum & Learning Early Childhood concentration at William Paterson University. She has written extensively, including authoring many articles for Teaching Young Children and Young Children, has conducted research in the areas of diversity, the arts, and early childhood curriculum, and been a recipient of the NJAECTE and NAECTE awards for Teacher Educator of the Year.

Lisa Bresson taught in urban public preschool settings for 13 years. She is currently a Technical Assistance Supervisor for Grow NJ Kids, New Jersey's statewide Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) for early childhood programs. She has been a contributing author for Teaching Young Children since 2008, and she co-authored a book chapter for Redleaf Press. She has given presentations at various state and local conferences and serves on the advisory board for Teaching Young Children.
