Lorraine Smith Pangle is Professor of Government and Co-Director of the Thomas Jefferson Center for the Study of Core Texts and Ideas at the University of Texas in Austin. Thomas L. Pangle holds the Joe R. Long Endowed Chair in Democratic Studies in the Department of Government at the Univeristy of Texas in Austin. His books include The Spirit of Modern Republicanism and The Ennobling of Democracy.
