Author and journalist Paul Cowan was born and raised in Scotland but is now based in Canada. As a journalist he has reported from Afghanistan and Kosovo. His first book, Scottish Military Disasters, was greeted with critical acclaim. His second book, How the Scots Created Canada, is a best-seller in his adopted homeland. He has contributed articles on military history to magazines and newspapers on both sides of the Atlantic.
