He has written for Melody Maker, New Sounds, New Styles and No.1 magazine, and later was Cosmopolitan's Undercover Man and a columnist for Cosmo online Venus and Mars. He has also written for television: two series of Channel 4's Exploitica and Exploitica Rides Again, David Walliams: My Life with James Bond (ITV) and It Started with Swap Shop (BBC2). As squeaking, rubbish magician Master Gerald and roller-blading Kate Bush tribute act Skate Bush, he was part of Lenny Beige's legendary revue show, The Regency Rooms.
