Dutchman, Pieter Bos, brings an unusual preparation to writing an innovative book on the nation and the city as the intention of God. Trained professionally as an architect and city-planner in the Netherlands, for fourteen years he was involved in city planning consultancy, urban preservation and urban renewal in the Netherlands and in Singapore. His career included lecturing and consulting in many Universities in The Netherlands, focusing on the philosophy of planning. His experience in starting and nurturing a Christian community, together with his wife Helene, with the stated purpose of learning how to live together in the city, led to their call to urban missions in 1983. This developed to working full-time in the field of urban church renewal. Since that time Pieter has served on the Council of Youth With A Mission in Amsterdam, moved into prayer leadership, serving as the National Coordinator of the City Prayer Movement in The Netherlands, and is co-founder and leader of the European Prayer Link (EPL). Pieter and Helene have also established Serving the Nations, a ministry which seeks 'to equip the church to prepare her nations for the return of Christ'.
