Dr Rex Mason is a Baptist Minister who served in churches in West Ham, Upminster and Cardiff (1951-65). From 1965-1975 he was Tutor in Old Testament Studies at Spurgeon's College, London and from 1975 until retirement in 1993 was Tutorial Fellow in OT and Hebrew at Regent's Park College, Oxford. From 1982-93 he was also University Lecturer in OT and Hebrew at Oxford. Among the other books he has written are: Preaching the Tradition (CUP 1990) and Propaganda and Subversion in the Old Testament (SPCK, 1997).
