Among a varied career which included periods in restaurant management and theatrical supply, Roger's writing talents had previously been mainly directed towards the production of marketing and advertising materials. The Inspector Constable mysteries grew from a series of dinner theatre stories written and performed by Roger in restaurants along Spain's Costa Blanca, which Roger then decided to turn into book form.
