Professional touring car driver in the 1970s, class winner in the British championship; a race winner in 22 different types of car; also a motoring journalist; seven-times winner of the Guild of Motoring Writers Rootes Gold Cup for outstanding results in motor sport by a journalist. He lives near Saffron Waldon in Essex.
