Adam Powley Adam is a sports journalist, author and lecturer, who has written more than 20 books including the bestselling When Football Was Football: Tottenham Hotspur. His most recent book (with Robert Gillan) is Shankly's Village: The Extraordinary Life and Times of Glenbuck and Its Famous Footballing Sons, which includes the stories of two famous old Spurs, Alex Tait and Sandy Brown, who both graced the White Hart Lane pitch in the early 1900s. Adam's first game at White Hart Lane was a 0-0 draw with Brighton in 1977, three weeks after Spurs had thrashed Bristol Rovers 9-0. Martin Cloake Martin is a writer, editor and season ticket holder at Spurs. His work appears in a wide range of football publications, and he has written extensively on fan culture.
