W.C. Flushing can proudly say that his life has been toilets. He owes it all to his gran, Dame Netty Flushing, who was a tireless campaigner for spotless public conveniences. The formidable Dame Netty often took the young W.C. with her on loo inspections and it was then that the little lad's life-long interest in lavatories was born. W.C. Flushing is best known for his great ten-volume work, Our Toilet Heritage.
