The fourth edition of this introductory social psychology text has been expanded and updated throughout, emphasizing the position social psychology occupies within the intellectual tradition of liberal arts. It is divided into three sections: social thinking, social influence and social relations, and this structure allows the student to develop an integrated understanding of the subject as they progress logically from one area of social psychology to the next. Applications are interwoven throughout each chapter and highlighted with the applied chapter that concludes each section. This new edition has a strong multicultural/multi-ethnic focus, using research from a variety of settings. There are new boxes which focus on past and current research.
