"Overpaid, oversexed and over here" - as the saying goes - they swiftly endeared themselves to a generation of British women deprived of male company for the war years, with interesting results. Pamela Winfield is the founder of TRACE, an organization that exists to put the grown-up children of those brief encounters in touch with their fathers across the Atlantic.
