By supporting them through the course, this text allows art and design students to become increasingly independent in their study. A discussion of the course units is followed by an analysis of eight cross-unit assignments. These are designed to spark students own ideas for carrying out assignments, to guide them in the planning and execution of their work and to give examples of quality outcomes. Core skills are integrated into assignments and students are encouraged to focus on providing evidence through their course work. Additional sections on portfolio building, careers and higher education complete the coverage.
