ALAN KELLY, now retired, was Head of Professional Studies at Sheffield City College of Education in England. Besides being editor of His Master's Voice/La Voce del Padrone: The Italian Catalogue of Italian Gramophone Recordings made from 1898 to 1929 (Greenwood Press, 1988), he has also contributed articles to the The Record Collector and Recorded Sound.
