In 1994, before the fall of the Srebrenica enclave, Arnold Jansen op de Haar (born 1962) was on active service in the former Yugoslavia as the commanding officer of a UN unit. He left the Dutch Grenadier Guards in 1995 to become a full time poet and columnist and has written Angel (Engel), the sequel to King of Tuzla (De koning van Tuzla). His poetry collection Yugoslav Requiem (Joegoslavisch requiem) is a companion to King of Tuzla. He writes a weekly column for Holland Park Press' online magazine.
