Heather Burke lectures in the Department of Archaeology at Flinders University, and has many years experience as a consultant archaeologist. She has participated in and directed numerous surveys and excavations for historic, prehistoric and Aboriginal sites across Australia. ..Claire Smith is President of the World Archaeological Congress and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Archaeology at Flinders University. She has conducted fieldwork with Indigenous communities in Australia, Asia and North America. Her publications include Indigenous Cultures in an Interconnected World and Country, Kin and Culture: Survival of an Aboriginal Community.
