She now writes about food and has published dozens of articles in Saveur, The San Francisco Chronicle, Fine Cooking and other publications. Her books include Chocolate Obsession with Michael Recchiuti; Bread and Chocolate: My Food Life in and Around San Francisco, A Sweet Quartet: Sugar, Almonds, Eggs, and Butter and Cake for Williams-Sonoma. She lives with her husband in San Francisco. Maren Caruso is a San Francisco-based photographer who specializes in food photography. Her work has appeared in Food & Wine, Gourmet, and Bon Appetit magazines and in more than 50 books, including Stewart, Tabori & Chang's Great Grilled Cheese, Chocolate Obsession, and Laura Werlin's Cheese Essentials.
