Lynn Fredericks is the founder of FamilyCook Productions (www.familycookproductions.com) and an award-winning pioneer in the field of obesity prevention and family nutrition. A leading advocate for hands-on food/nutrition education for all, she is a popular lecturer, television personality, and cooking demonstrator. Together with her FamilyCook Productions' team of dieticians, chefs and youth development professionals, Ms. Fredericks has developed research-based food and nutrition programs for state and local health departments, non-profits, and companies that have reached over 100,000 families. Through FamilyCook's partnership with HealthCorps, founded by renowned cardiologist and television personality Dr. Mehmet Oz, her Teen Battle Chef program has grown to over 100 schools across the US, empowering youth to make healthy food choices and 'stir up change' in their communities by sharing their cooking skills and teaching others. Ms. Fredericks and FamilyCook programs have been featured on such national television shows as NBC's Today, Cooking Live, and the Food Network's Chopped. She resides in New York City. Mercedes Sanchez, M.S., R.D., is FamilyCook's resident dietician. Her specialization is in pediatric and family nutrition. She holds a Masters in Clinical Nutrition from NYU and has served as a registered dietician for the pediatric department of Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. Her philosophy has always focused a multicultural approach to teaching children about family meal values and nutrition. She resides just outside of Paris, France.
