Magnum Photos is an international photographic co-operative of great diversity and distinction. Owned by its photographer-members, it was founded in 1947 by legendary photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, David Seymour and George Rodger to document world events and personalities and the full range of human experience through an engaged yet independent vision. Magnum continues to work with the world's most distinguished photographers, to supply illustrated journals, magazines, and books throughout the world with single photographs or complete picture essays - and to preserve the power of free expression and independent interpretation in the face of global media consolidation. Dave Anderson has been a sports columnist for The New York Times since 1971. In 1981, he won a Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary.
