Richard A. Gardner, M.D., a practicing child psychiatrist and adult psychoanalyst, is Clinical Professor of Child Psychiatry at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. Among child therapists he is recognized as one of the leading innovators in the field. His numerous books, articles, and audio and video tapes (numbering over 200) on various aspects of child psychotherapeutic technique are considered to be among the most useful and creative in the literature. Dr. Gardner is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Psychoanalysis.
