RUBEN GALLO is Assistant Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and Comparative Literature at the University of Toronto. His articles on Mexican photography and on art and on Julia Kristeva have been published in the United States, Latin America, and Europe. He is a regular reviewer of Latin American art exhibitions for art journals such as Flash Art and Poliester (Mexico City). Gallo is the editor of the forthcoming Mexico City Reader (Semiotexte 2002).
