VALERIE WALKERDINE is Foundation Professor in Critical Psychology and Director of the Centre for Critical Psychology at the University of Western Sydney. She is the author of a number of books including Changing the Subject Psychology, Social Regulation and Subjectivity (with Julian Henriques, Wendy Hollway, Cathy Urwin and Couze Venn), Growing up Girl: Psychosocial explorations of gender and class (with Helen Lucey and June Melody), Daddy's Girl: Young girls and popular culture, and Mass Hysteria: Critical Pyschology and Media Studies (with Lisa Blackman). She is founding editor of the International Journal of Critical Psychology.
