Eden, notorious locally for having beaten a murder charge, is barely holding onto her ranch, squeezed mercilessly by neighbour DePard. Into the picture comes Kincade, becoming Eden's ally in her struggle and falling in love with her, but she has a deep distrust of affairs of the heart.
