Books by Andrzej Stasiuk

Andrzej Stasiuk was born in Warsaw in 1960. His first book, The Walls of Hebron, is a collection of twelve stories about prison, based on the experience of his desertion from the army in a tank. In 1984 Stasiuk left Warsaw to live in Bieszczady, a deserted village in the wild south east where he writes, has founded his own publishing house and breeds llamas. Stasiuk writes for Gazeta Wyborcza, Poland's largest daily newspaper. His other books include a volume of poetry, Love and Other Poems, and a collection of short stories, The Galician Tales.
