Barry Flynn has written seven books of Irish interest, including biographies of the Irish boxers Freddie Gilroy, John Caldwell, John McNally, and Bernard Dunne, as well as Legends of Irish Boxing, Pawns in the Game, Political Football, and Soldiers of Folly . He has worked as a freelance broadcaster for BBC Northern Ireland, RTE, and Newstalk.
