Books by Michael D. Stevenson

Michael Stevenson is an art historian and a dealer in southern African art. Based in Cape Town, he works closely with collectors, and, with public and corporate galleries in South Africa and abroad. He has BBusSc, MPhil and PhD degrees from the University of Cape Town. Being particularly interested in the work of nineteenth-century South African artists, he co-ordinated an exhibition and catalogue of Thomas Baines' work in the collections of London scientific institutions in 1999. The books he has co-authored include, South-East African Beadwork (2000), Surviving the Lens: Photographic Studies of South and East African People 1870 - 1920 (2001) and Christo Coetzee: Paintings from London and Paris 1954 - 1964 (2001).
