Books by Mohammad Ayub Khan


Mohammad Ayub Khan (1907-1974) was a Field Marshal during the mid-1960s, and the second President of Pakistan from 1958 to 1969. He became Pakistan's first native Commander in Chief in 1951, and was the youngest full-rank general and self-appointed field marshal in Pakistan's military history. He was also the first Pakistani military general to seize power through a coup.
Craig Baxter (Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania) is Professor Emeritus of politics and history at Juniata College. He was a member of the Foreign Service and was posted in South Asia, in Bombay, New Delhi, Lahore (1965-1968) and Dhaka and was senior political officer for Pakistan and Afghanistan in Washington from 1968 to 1971. He was Foreign Service Visiting Member of faculty at the United States Military Academy and also served as the president of the American Institute of Pakistan Studies. Baxter is author, co-author, editor or co-editor of nineteen books dealing with South Asia as well as a number articles and chapters in edited works.
