Rita Rhodes gained a degree and a PhD from the Open University. She has held educational posts at the Co-operative Union Ltd, the national Co-operative Development Agency and the International Co-operative Alliance and has undertaken a number of co-operative assignments in Malaysia, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Mongolia for the International Labour Organisation and the European Union. She is currently Visiting Research Fellow at the Co-operatives Research Unit of the Open University, a Fellow of the Plunkett Foundation and a past Chair of the UK Society of Co-operative Studies.
