Leading New Zealand chef, caterer, teacher, food columnist and author Ruth Pretty is well known for fresh, delicious, imaginative New Zealand cuisine. Ruth Pretty Catering and the associated Cooking School are based at Ruth's rural property, Springfield, in Te Horo on the Kapiti Coast. Since 1999 Ruth has published four successful cookbooks; most recently Ruth Pretty's Favourite Recipes. She is also a food writer for the Dominion Post and Cuisine magazine. In 2005 Ruth was inducted into the New Zealand Restaurant Association Hall of Fame for her devotion to serving and promoting high-quality food.
