Wendy Martin was born in 1959 into the mining community of Porth, Rhondda, South Wales. Educated initially at Porth County Grammar School for Girls before moving onto Llandaff Technical College of Higher Education where she gained a Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science. Having worked in Pathology for eleven years, she more recently was joint owner of a Computer Networking Company and joint owner of a village pub and restaurant up until her divorce in 2007. These days the divorced mother of two now lives in a picturesque North Bedfordshire village with her new partner, son, two dogs and two cats. She is currently an Avon Independent Sales Leader. Writing has always been her main love and pastime. Growing up in the mining community of the Rhonnda Valleys, South Wales during the 1960s was a feast for imaginative escapism to replace the grey, rainy days and mine scarred landscapes. She now writes short stories and poetry on the Associated Content Website.
