Darius by Darius Danesh

Darius has been in the public eye from his first appearance on "Popstars" through to being a "Pop Idol" finalist and then becoming a successful recording artist in 2002 with the number one "Colourblind" and his platinum album "Dive In". In this book, Darius reveals what really went on behind the scenes of both shows and promises a few surprises. He also shares some very private moments, giving insight into the man and his career.
Darius Danesh was born in Glasgow in 1980 to a Persian father and Scottish mother. He first sang in public at the age of 4 and persuaded his parents to buy him a guitar when he was 9. He studied English Literature at Edinburgh University and it was while he was here that friends took him along to the radio audition that led to 'Popstars', the TV show that made him a household name. Offers of record deals followed but he decided to stay on his degree course. However, when 'Pop Idol' came around he felt ready to have a crack at it. The show became a phenomenon and he came third in the competition. In May 2002 he signed to Mercury in a deal that allows him to fulfill his dreams of both song-writing and performing.
