Jeremy M. Berg ist Associate Senior Vice Chancellor for Science Strategy and Planning und Fakultatsmitglied in der Abteilung fur Computational and Systems Biology an der University of Pittsburgh. Von 2003 bis 2011 war er Direktor des National Institute of General Medical Sciences an den National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Er hat bei Lubert Stryer studiert und an der Harvard University promoviert. John L. Tymoczko ist Towsley-Professor fur Biologie am Carleton College und unterrichtet dort unter anderem Biochemie, Stoffwechselgrundlagen menschlicher Krankheiten, Onkogene und Molekulare Tumorbiologie sowie Bioenergetik. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Steroidrezeptoren, Ribonucleoproteinpartikel und proteolytische Enzyme.
Lubert Stryer, der Begrunder dieses 1975 erstmals erschienenen und weltweit geschatzten Lehrbuches, ist Winzer-Professor fur Zellbiologie (Emeritus) an der School of Medicine und Professor fur Neurobiologie (Emeritus) an der Stanford University. Seit 1984 ist er Mitglied der National Academy of Sciences der USA. Zu seinen zahlreichen Auszeichnungen zahlen der Eli Lilly Award fur biochemische Grundlagenforschung und der Distinguished Inventors Award der Intellectual Property Owners' Association. Er ist Trager der National Medal of Science.
