This exercise book provides a cross-section of the diverse kinds of work that historical archaeologists actually do, and illustrates the different paradigms current in historical archaeology. The book guides students through exercises that draw on and develop the skills and concepts that historical archaeologists use in their research. It includes some exercises requiring field or laboratory work, uses realistic data sets and considers current historical archaeological paradigms.
