Anita Vangelisti currently teaches courses at the University of Texas, Austin on communication in personal relationships, family communication, communication and emotion, empirical research methods, and interaction analysis. Her work focuses on how communication affects, and is affected by, emotions and interpretive processes such as attribution. She has published articles in journals such as Communication Monographs, Human Communication Research, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Personal Relationships, Family Relations, the Journal of Adolescent Research, and the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. Daniel Perlman is an academic psychologist with broad, applied interests that cut across social, developmental and clinical psychology as focused on the study of close relationships. He is a Professor of Family Studies in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia. He was President of the International Society for the Study of Personal Relationships and the Canadian Psychological Association. He has authored and edited over 50 articles and 15 books and edited works.
