Born in Hertfordshire, Brian Godfrey trained and studied as an engineer before working in the Merchant Navy. He later moved overseas, working in various continents, including Africa, where he promoted and managed professional boxers. He's spent his later years writing, playing golf and travelling with his wife Pat.
