Ali discovered that she didn't much like fashion but really loved London and has lived there ever since. After college Ali faffed around for a decade, had children and then finally got around to doing what she should have done all along, which was to study illustration. While taking an MA in illustration at Kingston University Ali was commissioned to illustrate her first picture book, Where is Fred? by Edward Hardy. She has since illustrated stories for publishers including Oxford University Press, Campbell Books, Egmont, Nosy Crow, Orchard Books, HarperCollins and Stripes. Ali lives in Twickenham with her husband, children and two very shy guinea pigs.
