D.M Simons spent her primary school years in Canada before her family returned to Scotland. She now lives in Aberdeenshire with her husband, four teenage children and many pets. She studied and worked in Glasgow, Vancouver and Oxford as a cell biologist, and has a passion for communicating science to children and teenagers in schools.
