Dr. Everett Piper is the president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University (OKWU). He is the author of Why I Am a Liberal, and Other Conservative Ideas and the viral op-ed, "This is not a Day Care. It's a University!" In 2015 he received the Jeanne Kirkpatrick Award for Academic Freedom from the Bradley Foundation and the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC). He has been featured on FOX & Friends, NBC Today! Show, Varney & Co., The O'Reilly Factor, The Glenn Beck Show, and a host of other radio and television venues. Piper also writes routinely for a number of publications, including [example, example, and example]. A native of Hillsdale, Michigan, Dr. Piper, his wife, and their two sons, have served as OKWU's First Family since August of 2002. He actively participates on a variety of councils relating to cultural engagement and public policy.
