Gerry White was born in New York City in 1957 and is company quartermaster sergeant in the Irish Defence Forces. He has published several historical articles andis co-author with Dan Harvey of The Barracks, A History of Victoria/Collins BarracksCork (Mercier Press, 1997), and co-author with Brendan O'Shea of The Irish Volunteer Soldier 1913-1923 (Osprey, 2003). Dr Brendan O'Shea was born in Tipperary in 1958 and is a commandant in the Irish Defence Forces. He is the author of Crisis at Bihac, Bosnia's Bloody Battlefield (Sutton Publishing, 1998), The Modern Yugoslav Conflict 1991-1995 (Frank Cass, 2005), co-author with Gerry White of The Irish Volunteer Soldier 1913-1923 (Osprey, 2003), and editor of In the Service of Peace, Memories of Lebanon (Mercier Press, 2001).
