Books by Harold R. Isaacs

Harold Isaacs was a Marxist historian who identified closely with Leon Trotsky's critique of the Soviet Union's degeneration under the control of an authoritarian Stalinist bureaucracy through the 1920s. Isaacs' major work, "The Tragedy of the Chinese Revolution," published originally in 1938, is dedicated to the "martyrs" of the 1925-1927 revolution who fought for a society based upon authentic self-governance.
