Igea Troiani (PhD) is a trained architect, academicand filmmaker who is a professor of architecture at theUniversity of Plymouth. She graduated from the RoyalMelbourne Institute of Technology and since 1996 hastaught research-led design and history and theory inschools of architecture in Australia, China and theUnited Kingdom. Igea produces books andpublications, buildings, art exhibitions and architecturalfilms as research outputs. Working mostly in academianow she uses exhibitions as a mode of research anddissemination, writes theory as film and makes films on architectural production under her productioncompany Caryatid Films. She is founder and editor-in-chief of the interdisciplinary, award-winning journalArchitecture and Culture that publishes exploratoryresearch that is purposively imaginative rigorouslyspeculative, visually and verbally stimulating.

Suzanne Ewingis Professor of Architectural Criticism at The University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and director of Zone Architects. Her publications includeArchitecture and Field/Work(2011) and she is co-editor ofthe award-winningjournalArchitecture and Culture.
