Joel Stewart is the creator and director of the hit children's television series The Adventures of Abney & Teal. He is also the hugely talented author and illustrator of children's picture books, including his Dexter Bexley picture books, and illustrations for contemporary authors such as Julia Donaldson, Carol Ann Duffy, and Michael Rosen. Joel's awards for illustration include: Macmillan prize for children's book illustration. Silver medal, Parents Choice, for The Adventures of a Nose. Selected for the IBBY Honour List for outstanding book illustration work for Tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Winner of 0-5 Nestle Bronze award for Dexter Bexley & the Big Blue Beastie. Chosen by Booktrust in 2008 as one of the ten best new illustrators of the last decade. Joel works in a variety of media, including digital, always with a love of drawing at the centre.
