John A. Jakle is professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the author, with Keith Sculle, of 'The Gas Station in America,' also available from Johns Hopkins. Keith A. Sculle is adjunct professor of history at the University of Illinois at Springfield and head of research and education, Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. Jefferson S. Rogers is assistant professor of geography at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
